Who out there has tried them all and sticks with multiple screen readers?
I use window eyes. I briefly used jaws and didn't have any complaints.
I've just recently found system access and quite enjoying it.
Not much experience with voice over yet. I need to find a website that lists all the commands.
Anyway, screen reader junkies; step on up!
well, i use jaws as my primary with NVDA as my backup. i've messed with window eyes and Hal now, and i'm learning voice over now in a class. very intresting so far.
i use jaws for primary, but also use SA as i like it as secondary, and i like the content on the SA mobile network.
I use Jaws, tried window-eyes, nvda is my backup, and satogo goes everywhere with me. I've tested hal at a confrence last year, along with seeing how guide, supernova, looner, and looner plus works.
I use jaws as my primary, NVDA as my backup, and have tried window eyes, Orca, Voice over, Thunder, Zoomtext, Magic and System Access.
Those NVDA users, write more. I don't know anything about that one.
Why is the SA mobile network worth the money?
I use JAWS most of the time, but used to use hal for about 6 years. I think the speech on zoomtext is OK. I had jaws running with NVDA a few times and also randomly started up JAWS, Window Eyes and Zoomtext all at once on one of the college computers! It was so funny!! Hahahahahahahahaha!
SA is good for audio described movies alone, v good in my opinion, also, good forhams and such. it's a good package.
I was mainly a JAWS user, and played with Window-eyes a bit, and NVDA as well, but since i've had my mac, I mainly use the mac and VoiceOver. Ifanybody is just getting into the mac, and needs any help, would be happy to help if I can.
I used jaws normally, but sometimes I use nvda especially since right now I only have access to my mother's computer and can't use jaws on there. NVDA can be found at www.NVDA-Project.org. It's pretty nice for a free, open source sr. I've used window eyes, have never used hal or SA though.
I would have loved to see how jaws, zt and nvda acted when all running at once. I know that jaws and nvda tend to sort of fight over control of the insert and capslock keys. This is something I have to try, rofl.
